Found this today and they still do not understand that, we the people do not want illegals in our country. It is nothing more than a way to get someones vote that does not have the privelege to vote to start with. Just another reason to not trust our elected officials.

Read this piece today, and as i have written earlier the SCOTUS decision on Heller does not remove any of the bad laws. We will have to continue to work to remove those burdens that have been placed on us.

A person i only know from reading about what happened to him, began to serve his sentence for something he did not do. If we could, the family has asked to write to him while he is in prison. All we can do now is support him by writing. Have you joined GOA, and if not, why not? They are one organization that everyone should support. III

Our countries independence from England was declared on this day in 1776. I reread the Declaration of Independence earlier and thought that a lot of our freedoms are slowly slipping away from us. Perhaps this country needs another revolution. I wonder how many patriots would show up, if any are still alive in this country. 3.

Finally someone at the State level is awake that things are not quite right and has decided to prosecute the FBI sniper who shot Vicki Weaver for manslaughter. Lets hope this goes all the way to a jury trial, it would be another one of those cases that has the ability to stop the abuse we have to put up with at the federal level. Perhaps those involved at Waco should be next. 3.

I don't know of a situation involving the ATF that can be any worse for us common folk than this. It makes ones blood boil to see what our government and its agencies are capable of. With this being the latest from David R Olofson, I urge you to search the War On Guns site to read more about what happened. All i can say is, eternal vigilence is neccessary and trust no one. Ever.

Are We Free?

I read this today. I have to ask myself if the Supreme Court decision really changed anything, oh sure the handgun ban in D.C. will come to an end. Has this ruling by the court changed anything for the better? After reading many articles since the ruling, i'm thinking it only made one thing clear, that "the right to keep and bear arms" is most definitely an individual right. Wow i've known that since the first time i read the Second Amendment to the Constitution. The ruling did nothing to remove all of the other restrictions that are placed on our guns.

More Thoughts On Heller v D.C.

We now know where the boundaries are in regards to the Second Amendment, the Supreme Courts decision is a very good first step. Many more years will pass with more suits being filed and more legislation written. Some good comments can be found here and here . What this did not do was remove all of the very bad laws that are still on the books and it is up to us as individuals to never stop fighting to have all of them removed. Will it happen? Only if we keep at it at all levels, each city, each state and even federally. Every new law has to be challenged, lest they think that we are now satisfied. Never ever give up, it started with one person, now is the time to stand up and support those who are challenging new and existing laws! More tomorrow.

Chicago Is Next

After the Supreme Court ruling on Thursday, the Second Amendment Foundation filed a lawsuit challenging the city of Chicago's handgun ban. To the plaintiff's i wish you success in your suit against the city of Chicago and Mayor Daley. It is time for our elected officials to understand that it is about our rights, not there rights! The Decision

The Supreme Court today ruled in the case District of Columbia vs Heller. Heller affirmed, in a 5-4 decision, the Second Amendment protects an individual right to possess a firearm. The 1976 D.C. handgun ban has been struck down. This is an important precedent to have for those of us who believe in gun rights. This is a good first step. More tomorrow.

Assault Weapons Ban Reauthorization Act of 2008, or as they call it,Public Safety and Recreational Firearms Use Protection Act. Introduced in the House of Representatives on June 12,2008 by Mr Kirk, Mr Castle, Mr Ferguson, and Mr Shays. These four reps need to be voted out of office. We had a ban from 1994 to 2004, the only way it passed back in 94 was with a provision that the law would expire after 10 years. Will it get anywhere in this session of Congress? Probably not, but come November and the elections, and a new year, anything is possible. Vigilance on this bill until it dies is necessary. More tomorrow

To Scott Kalitta 1962-2008. Died in an accident while qualifying for the NHRA race in Englishtown, NJ. My condolences to his family, friends and fellow racers. Scott died doing what he loved, driving a Top Fuel Funny Car.

This is outrages, Did BOA/CFC write housing bill, all the more reason to vote all of them out of office in november. I hope everyone calls their Senator and complains very loudly about this. I'm constantly amazed at what comes out of Washington DC, this was hidden in the housing legislation that is in the Senate.

Would anyone care to guess at how many of the 100 Senators have read the entire 630 pages of this legislation, or are really concerned with the effects of this bill on you and I. It makes the mind spin at what they are capable of. Could it be that Senator Dodd is paying someone back a favor. Sorry that does not happen, what was I thinking. More tomorrow.

The Beginning

I have decided that, things need to be said. With the hope that maybe i can awaken a few people to the current reality in this country and the direction it is going. My thoughts come from observations when i am away from " The Burrow" aka Home. Woodchuck colonies are alot like small towns, it takes everyone working together to make the town come alive.There are gas stations and food stores, schools and churches, doctors,banks, elected officials, a post office and small shops offering services of any thing you can imagine. It kinda fits together like a puzzle,this piece here, that piece there and when it is all working in harmony, it's a place you are proud to call home, my town, i'm from this city, i'm from this state, i live in this country. But lately there are pieces missing from the puzzle. So, i've decided to write about the missing pieces. Perhaps you sense that something is not quite right where you live, as i have here in my town.
